These terms apply when you buy the digital cookbook Cook Like Grandma Ying — The Chinese Home Cooking Book for American Kitchens (the "book") on this website. Please read them before you buy. By completing checkout you agree to them.

1. Who sells the book

"Grandma Ying" is the name and character of our YouTube channel and cookbook.

2. What you buy

The book is a digital PDF file. Nothing is printed or shipped. After payment you can download the file right away, and Gumroad emails you a receipt with your download link. You can read it on a phone, tablet or computer, and print it for yourself.

3. Price and payment

The price is shown on the website in US dollars before you pay. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Checkout, payment and delivery of the file are handled by Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale and collects any sales tax or VAT that applies. Any tax is shown at checkout. We never see or store your card details.

New visitors may see a welcome price for a limited time. When it ends, the regular price applies. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout.

4. Your license to use the book

When you buy the book, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use it for yourself and your household. You may keep copies on your own devices and print it for your own kitchen. You may not resell, share, upload, publish or give away the file or parts of it. The book, its text, photos and design are protected by copyright and belong to Yopebouw.

5. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase. See the refund policy for how this works, and for your legal right of withdrawal if you live in the European Union.

6. Cooking, allergies and food safety

The book is general home-cooking information, not medical, dietary or professional advice. Recipes may contain soy, wheat, sesame, shellfish, fish, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and other allergens. Always check every ingredient against your own allergies and dietary needs. Cook food to the safe temperatures given by the USDA and FoodSafety.gov, and take normal care with hot oil, knives and stoves. Cost estimates are based on typical 2026 US supermarket prices and will differ where you shop.

7. Problems with the file

If the file does not open, or you lose it, write to us and we will help you or send it again.

8. Liability

We make the book with care, but we cannot guarantee that every recipe will turn out the same in every kitchen. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the book. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away any rights you have as a consumer.

9. Law that applies

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country. If you have a complaint, please write to us first. We would like to solve it with you.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one on this page on the day you bought the book.
